August 16, 2013. Cylinder loaders. We have sold all the cylinder loaders, and haven't been able to arrange for more. Well, we do have a very few remaining -- but these aren't the well-made items we have been proud to sell, and that we would like to again provide. What is left are rough, in the words of one that knows. Unfortunately, when we disabled online orders -- some where there is a "leak", a workaround, that a couple of people found. The problem is that we don't have the clean products to sell any longer, even if someone finds a way to place another order. In the event we are able to once again provide the quality Cap and Ball Cylinder Loaders we are proud to provide, they will be made available on the PowderInc.com site. Thanks for your understanding.
June 6, 2013. On May 14 our Black Dawge Cartridge building was partially destroyed, we lost some of the equipment needed to make cartridges, we lost much of our Black Dawge inventory, and our skilled operator was badly injured. While Jerred continues to recover, we don't, for the moment, foresee resuming operations for Black Dawge Cartridge. Current plans are to move caps, bullets, Hilux scopes, and the remaining* cylinder loaders back to the Powder, Inc. web site and operations. (* We are running low on the cylinder loaders, and looking for a way to manufacture more.) We thank our customers for their patronage and the prayers for our son.
May 18, 2013. Black Dawge Cartridge is closed, for now, as we respond to our recent accident.
May 18, 2013.Jerry tells me, "There was a serious accident at our plant on May 14 involving our younger son. He was critically injured and is in Arkansas Childrenís Hospital Burn Unit in Little Rock, AR. He has had his first surgery and the doctorís are amazed at his progress. He is looking at several weeks in the hospital, and we expect a full recovery. The out pouring of prayers, love and support from our customers have been overwhelming. We will report updates on his condition.".
April 22, 2013. Yes, if you look, we don't have the Arkansas Cast .715 round ball anymore. Sorry.
April 10, 2013. Delays on bullet and ammo orders. From Naomi,
We are really behind on all ammo and bullet orders. Due to our suppliers running low and shipping delays on our supply, and the large amount of orders. I canít give an estimate time of shipping right now, all we can say is it will be a longer wait. We had said in the past 2-3 weeks but that was when we had supplies on hand. I know our customers may be . . frustrated. We do apologize for the delay on shipments and thank our customers for their patience.
March 1, 2013. 45-70 brass, we ran out, so no 45-70 ammo for now. We are looking for more brass, but haven't had much luck, yet. No word on when we might get the brass, and then the ammo, going again. Sorry.
February 11, 2013. We got behind on Black Dawge Ammo and Bullets orders. Instead of our usual 2-3 days to get your order shipped, we are now running about 2-3 weeks behind. Thanks for the business; sorry that we got caught short like this. And we are low on caps; please call to order caps.
February 2, 2013. We got the 45-70 brass in, so the 45-70 350 and 405 ammo is available again.
January 1, 2013. Freight and fees went up, and a couple of powder prices increased as well, so we greet the new year with new prices. Huzzah.
November 14, 2012. Out of 45-60 Jamison Brass. Wait, we said that back in September. But now we are out of the 45-60 black powder cartridge ammo, as well. Until we get more of the Jamison brass, we can't make more 45-60 ammo. Sorry.
September 17, 2012. Out of 45-60 Jamison Brass. We don't know when more will be available. Sorry.
August 22, 2012. End of the Blackhorn 45-60 Govt. line. The 45-60 Govt. ammo is available, as always, with blackpowder propellant, but the Blackhorn 209 loads are gone. Sorry.
May 18, 2012. Ammo, .38 Short Colt in black powder. We dropped this ammo. Sorry. Our other .38 caliber black powder bullets and ammo are still in stock, and we expect to continue with them for a long time.
February 22, 2012. International orders for the Cap and Ball Cylinder loader are important to us. But the cost of shipping keeps going up, we raised the shipping fee by $4 to $47.95. Call 1-479-405-0005 for information and arrangements on international orders. Outside business hours (8am - 5pm CST, Monday - Thursday, 8am-4pm Friday), please email to for arrangements and shipping costs. Note that our shipping fee does not include import duties or fees imposed by the arrival country. Thanks!
January 16, 2012. Um, more price stuff. Shipping costs, again. We increased the shipping fee for the Cap and Ball Cylinder Loader from $5 to $10 today. That still doesn't cover all of the costs of shipping one, but it comes closer. Thanks.
January 10, 2012. We added CCI #10, #11, and #11 magnum caps on our caps page, along with the four-winged CCI Musket caps already there.
January 3, 2012. Change in shipping costs for ammunition. $12-19.50 per carton, $19.50 for full cartons (10 boxes), $12 for 1-5 boxes in a partial carton plus $1.50 for additional boxes in a partial carton, up to the $19.50 for a full 10 box carton. Sorry, the transport costs really bit us with the new shipper price schedules.
August 22, 2011. Apologies to those in Hawaii and Alaska. Freight charges there are, um, exorbitant. It seems UPS charge$ a "ground" rate, but actually puts the order on a plane to get there. (A big surprise, heading to Hawaii, huh?) Anyway, if ordering for delivery to Hawaii or Alaska, please call (during business hours, US Central time, etc.) to work out freight. And if ordering cartridges, UPS adds on the Dept of Transportation HAZMAT fee for shipping blackpowder on a plane. For UPS Ground rates. You coulda knocked me over with a feather. Just in case you are wondering, I checked, and Alaska and Hawaii don't border any other states! You, or UPS, have to cross oceans or other countries to get there from here!
June 14, 2011. Changes in the .45 cal bullets. The price came down, a bit, for the .45 cal, 450 grain bullets, and we added a 500 grain in .45 cal.
May 13, 2011. And, yes, this really is Friday the 13th. Our justly famed and cherished Cap and Ball Cylinder Loader ships with two loading jags. I know we said it ships with three, and it used to, until, ahem, that changed. Sorry for the mis-information.
January 17, 2011. We ran out of the brass powder flasks and measures made here in Arkansas, USA. We don't know when they will be back in stock.
November 22, 2010. New pages, new products. Check out the online catalog. Patches - Wonder lubed Cotton and Cotton Ticking shooting patches, revolver seals - a bunch of muzzleloading and black powder revolver nice-to-haves - including the revolver safety-first gizmos, seals that reduce the chance that cylinders might cross-fire between chambers. And Caps, percussion caps for muzzleloaders. Buy 'em by the 1,000 pieces. Or five thousand or ten, for a better price. Prices for caps include shipping and hazmat fees.
April 10, 2010. Catalog is online. Since it is new - we appreciate knowing what you think of the appearance, and any problems or corrections you might notice.
